Constitutions of the World
From the University of Wüerzburg in Germany, this site contains the text from the constitutions and other legal and governmental documents from dozens of countries, complete with background information and outlines.
Conversations with History
Developed in 1982 by Henry Kreisler of the Institute of International Studies at the University of California at Berkeley, the aim of this series is to capture and preserve intellectual ideas by interviewing prominent figures about their lives and work. Conversations with History includes over 200 interviews. Subjects for interview include diplomats, statesmen, soldiers, economists, political analysts, scientists, historians, writers, foreign correspondents, activists and artists. The interviews aim to include discussions of political, economic, military, legal, cultural and social issues which shape the world.
Historical Texts Project
From the history department at Hanover College, the Hanover Historical Texts Project makes primary sources available to history students and teachers. An impressive work-in-progress, the Project covers European, American, Middle East, African, South Asian, East Asian, and Ancient history.
Library of Congress: Country Studies
The Country Studies Series from the Library of Congress presents a description and analysis of the historical setting and the social, economic, political, and national security systems and institutions of countries throughout the world and examines the interrelationships of those systems and the ways they are shaped by cultural factors. At present, 101 countries and regions are covered. Notable omissions include Canada, France, the United Kingdom, and other Western nations, as well as a number of African nations.
