APIS: Advanced Papyrological Information System
This database, originally funded by grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities, allows for complex searches of the papyrus collections at Duke, Michigan, Yale, Columbia, Berkeley, and Princeton. The documents may also be browsed by subject, language, or writing material.
Abbreviations in Latin Inscriptions
Compiled by Tom Elliot for the American Society of Greek and Latin Epigraphy, this website offers two lists: one of common abbreviations in Latin inscriptions, the other of abbreviations from all Latin inscriptions published in L'Annie Ipigraphique from 1888 to 1993.

British Epigraphy Society
The British Epigraphy Society, an independent chapter of the Association Internationale d'Epigraphie Grecque et Latine, seeks to advance the study of Greek and Roman inscriptions and historical documents. Manfred Clauss of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University offers this searchable database of 145,000 Latin inscriptions from the Corpus Inscriptionum Latinarum.
Epigraphic Database Heidelberg
Maintained by Géza Alföldy, this searchable database contains over 32,000 Latin inscriptions from all over the Roman Empire. The "Contents" button links to the Epigraphic Database Heidelberg homepage, which has notes on the history and objectives of the project. The site is available in German and English.
POxy: Oxyrhynchus Online
University of Oxford presents the homepage for the Oxyrhynchus papyri, with information about the ancient town and excavations there, images of the texts, and links to other papyrology resources.
Papyrology Gateway
Created and maintained by John Muccigrosso at Drew University, this page contains a collection of links to online resources in papyrology, divided into the following areas: institutions with papyrology collections; images; Coptic; scholarly literature; other papyrological resources; and related web resources.
Princeton University Library Papyrus Collection
The Princeton University Library maintains this homepage for their collection of papyri. It offers a complete inventory arranged by language and images of selected papyri.
Recording, Processing, and Archiving Carbonized Papyri
Antti Nurminen of the Helsinki University of Technology presents this illustrated study on imaging methods and image processing of papyrus fragments that have been carbonized.
The Carlsberg Papyri
The Carlsberg Papyrus Collection, maintained by the Carsten Niebuhr Institute at the University of Copenhagen, includes over 500 inventoried papyri. Their website features an index of published texts, a bibliography for each fragment, and images of the papyri, where available.
The Evolution of Slavery in Hellenistic and Roman Greece
Elizabeth Meyer of the University of Virginia presents an archive of Greek manumission inscriptions from Hellenistic and Roman Greece. The project currently features inscriptions from Boeotia only.
The Heidelberg Papyrus Collection
The University of Heidelberg presents an online catalog of its papyrus collection, with a description and image of each text. The site is in German, but instructions for searching the database are available in English.
The Köln Papyrus Collection
The University of Köln presents its collection of papyri online, with descriptions and images from Volumes 1-8 of their published papyri available here. Please note that the website is entirely in German.
The Tebtunis Papyri Collection
The Bancroft Library at the University of California, Berkeley maintains this website. It contains a searchable database with images of more than 1400 papyri from their vast collection. The site also features essays on the history and content of the texts discovered at Tetubnis, Egypt.
The University of Michigan Papyrus Collection
The University of Michigan presents 2500 papyrus records and images from its extensive collection. The papyri may be browsed by topic. Complex searches may be performed through the Advanced Papyrological Information System (APIS) database.
U.S. Epigraphy Project
Created and hosted at Rutgers University, the U.S. Epigraphy Project seeks to gather and distribute information about ancient Greek and Latin inscriptions preserved in the United States.
Yale Papyrus Collection
The Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale University presents this database of the school's papyrus collection, with high-resolution images of each item. An introduction to the catalog provides a bibliography and details of the various search criteria.
